Resilient Bars can increase the sound insulation performance of ceiling and wall systems. The Resilient bar works as a acoustic solution to decouple the plasterboard from it's substrate, allowing a break in the transmission of sound. Resilient bars are fitted to the underside of the joists and perimeter noggins on all four sides of a room. The Resilient Bar is fixed at right angles to the joists at 450mm maximum centres. When 2400mm board is being used the Resilient Bar will need to be reduced to 400mm centres. The resilient bar offers a 16mm drop, 17mm including the thickness of the metal in ceiling height.
